Club promoters Propaganda and Autonomy Music Group launch Propaganda Records

Indie club night promoters Propaganda and Autonomy Music Group have launched Propaganda Records as a joint venture. The label’s first release will be the brand new single by London band Moses.

Propaganda boasts 20 weekly nights across the UK, as well as in Australia, America and Brazil. Every week over 20,000 people attend the nights across the UK.

Ed Sheeran, James Corden,  Mumford & Sons, Bastille, Ellie Goulding, Two Door Cinema Club and Catfish & The Bottlemen have all played live or DJed at Propaganda.

Propaganda was launched fifteen years ago by DJ Dan (Dan Ickowitz-Seidler) at the age of twenty in Bristol.

Autonomy Music Group was created by Richard Engler and David Rowell, and recently celebrated its tenth birthday. The label services company now represent artists from around the world.

As managers they put Feeder back in the top 10 last year and have also been crucial to the early success of Communion Records.

As part of each release, the label’s signings will play a full live tour at Propaganda nights across the country. The first of these kick off on June 9th as Moses head out to play five nights across the UK.

Limited edition vinyl of each single release will also be produced, many of which will be given away at the Propaganda nights, ensuring the new label will provide a revolutionary launch platform for new bands, getting them in front of a guaranteed and relevant audience.

Ickowitz-Seidler says: “I have known Richard and David for a number of years. We have been discussing Propaganda Records for a long time and I could not have wished for better partners in this really exciting project.  I’m thrilled to be working together on it.”

Adds Engler: “We are so excited. Propaganda have a loyal fanbase and between us we’re finding great new talent and exposing it to a ready audience.  Just like Factory Records had the Hacienda – what could possibly go wrong?”
